Sophie

Grahamgolden’s Sophie D’Aboyne   “Sophie”

Sophie as a pup

Sophie has been a wonderfully attentive mother to her four litters. Her magnificent temperament, intelligence and athleticism live on in her daughter GYPSY and her niece CHLOE. Sophie is now retired from motherhood.

Sophie was born on September 19, 2000.     Sophie is a well rounded Golden.   You can take her anywhere and be proud of her.   She is extremely athletic and agile with tremendous stamina.   She is happiest when retrieving tennis balls and bringing them back and dropping them at your feet – all day long, if she could.   She is equally talented at quietly sitting at your feet at a meeting or at a social gathering, giving comfort to an aging and fragile relative by lying quietly beside her on her bed, or, in her therapy dog role, giving pleasure to dog loving residents of a retirement home who long for her visits and miss not being able to have their pets with them.

Dr. (DVM) Tom and Joan Dales of Goldendale Kennels in Perth, Ontario, bred Sophie’s mother, Fleur.   She comes from an illustrious line of Golden Retrievers, which includes Top Obedience Dog in Canada (1995), Obedience, Companion, Field, Show, Outstanding Dam and Sire awards and dogs with Orthopaedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) “excellent” hip ratings over five generations. In the late 1940s Tigathoe Kennel was instrumental in producing a number of field champions and important sires.    Tigathoe offspring appear in Sophie’s bloodline.
